Easy Makeup Tips

makeup tipsEasy Ways to Apply Lipstick
Looking for gorgeous, luscious lips? Find out how to apply lipstick the perfect way. Choosing the right color suiting to your skin type will give you the perfect, instant, glamorous, and beautiful look. Shades of red are a must to have for fairer skin tones. For darker complexion, lighter red, brown or purple should go.

  1. Choose the best brand and color according to your skin complexion.
  2. Make sure your lips are very smooth and soft.
  3. Apply lip balm or moisturizer.
  4. Outline your lips using a color pencil matching your lipstick. Outlining your lips will block the lipsticks by leaking out. Make sure it is applied perfectly with a thin line.
  5. Or use a sponge or small brush to dab powder foundation. This will keep the lipstick color from seeping outside.
  6. Seal up your lips with the perfect brand and color.

Simple Eye Makeup Tips
The eyes are what people first notice in your appearance. Here are some simple makeup tips for sparkling, beautiful, and magnificent eyes. Follow these steps one by one to highlight those beautiful eyes.

  1. Start with applying primer to your eyelid; this will smoothen your skin and the makeup will stick well. Apply it all over the eyelid up to the eyebrow bone.
  2. Apply concealer in case of dark circles. Apply over the whole area till your inner eye meets your nose.Use your finger or brush to do so. You can set the concealer by brushing loose powder over it and to your eyelids.
  3. Apply eye shadow. You can use one color or mix the color. You need to apply medium color on your eyelid. For the dip between your eyelid and eyebrow bone, you can use medium pink or light brown, You can apply light pearly off white or other delicate, light colors that matches your eyelid color to the area that sits beneath the eyebrow bone.
  4. Apply darker color like brown, voilet, or which matches up with the first two colors you have used. This application will go for the crease. Start from the outer corner of your crease towards the inner corner on your crease.
  5. Eye liner Line the eye from inside of the lashes. You can use liquid eyeliner or a pencil.
  6. You can go ahead with applying mascara. Black works for everyone. You can even crimp your lashes once in the middle and once near the tips, to have beautiful stunning eyes.
  7. You can use an eyeliner pencil, a liquid liner or an eyeliner brush dipped into a deep shadow to line your eyes. If you use a pencil, set the line with eyeshadow, because penciled lines tend to melt and won’t stay put all day.

Applying Liquid Eyeliner
To apply liquid eyeliner, line the eye from the inside of the lashes outward in one big sweep. You can also line the eye from the middle of the lash line outward, and then finish the line from the inner corner of the eye to the middle. Another liquid eyeliner trick requires a steady hand and will make eyes appear wider.

  1. Start with a completely bare eye.
  2. On the upper lashes, dot the liquid liner into the spaces between the lashes, wiggling the liner into the lashes. The result is not supposed to be a line. It’s supposed to look as if the lashes themselves are super thick at the roots.
  3. Apply mascara.
  4. Compare the eye to other naked eye.
  5. Wiggle the wand left to right at the base of lashes. It’s the mascara placed near the roots — not the tips — that gives the illusion of length.
  6. Pull the wand up and through the lashes, wiggling as you go. The wiggling part is key because it separates lashes.
  7. Close the eyes and place the mascara wand on top of lashes at the base, and pull through to remove any clumps.

How to Buy the Right Makeup

DCF 1.0For those of you who need to know all about buying and applying makeup by yourself, I have something here that you may be interested in.

Choosing the Right Makeup
Don’t just go in for some brand or something you have heard of. Be wise and choose what suits you the best.

  • Make a list of things you need and want. That way, you will know what to buy for sure. For a beginner, you only need the basics. To know your shade, you just have to look at the makeup and try a little on your hand. The shade that looks the most natural is your shade. Make sure that the colors you pick out suit your skin tone, and are of high quality, good value, and suit your skin type. Pick a brand you want to try, and go to their counter at the store. This way, you can try on the products before you buy anything.
  • Start with the simple things, like mascara and eyeliner. If you have a lot of blemishes or pimples, use a powder foundation. For eyeshadow, start with neutral colors, like browns, tans, deep blues, or purples. For light skin, you should wear soft-colored eyeshadows, pink lipsticks, and dark mascara.
  • You will also need to take a moment and think of what you can and cannot buy according to your budget. If you are short of cash, don;t just buy whatever you can with the available resources. Maybe you can postpone your purchase for a month or so till you have enough money to buy the right stuff.

Complexion Guide
Choosing the right makeup for you has everything to do with your age, skin type, and complexion. And while the choices can be daunting, here are a few simple guidelines you can follow.

  • Teens The best look for you is fresh, pretty, and clean. Pinpoint your best feature, like your skin, lips, or eyes, and use makeup to emphasize it. The rule of thumb for teens is that ‘you’ should stand out, not your makeup.
  • Asian Yellow-based foundations and powders work very well for Asian skin. Avoid pink-based foundations and powders; they result in a harsh and unnatural look.
  • Hispanic Wear shades that enhance your natural, striking, dark tone. Avoid bright shades; they will only clash with your color.
  • African-American Darker skin has many complex undertones. That’s why you should get to know your skin and its specific undertones, and choose shades that complement your natural color.
  • Older Adults While many women tend to wear more makeup as they get older, that strategy can backfire. Simplifying your makeup and coordinating with your natural tone will give you a healthier and younger appearance.

Brands You Can try
Ulta, Target, CVS, Walgreen’s, MAC, Sephora, NARS, Urban Decay, Dior, Chanel, Maybelline, CoverGirl, Revlon.

Remember one thing, everyone has different complexions and features. What might look good on your friend won’t necessarily suit you. So make sure you try out anything before making a purchase. This is the only way to buy the right makeup for yourself.

Planets in Our Solar System

planetsThere are eight recognized planets in our solar system. With new discoveries nearly everyday, there are hundreds of dwarf planets and satellites too floating around in our huge solar system. For now, we’ll have a look at the real planets in order from the Sun.

Mercury
Mercury is the smallest planet in our solar system, and is also the closet to the Sun among all. With a speed of 47.87 km/s, it is also the fastest orbiting planet, taking just 88 days to circle around the Sun.

Venus
Venus is the second farthest from the Sun. It orbits the Sun at a speed of 35.02 km/s, and takes 224.7 days to complete a full orbit.

Earth
Our very own planet Earth comes in third as far as distance from the Sun is concerned. Orbiting the Sun at a speed of 29.78 km/s, it takes 365.2 days to complete one round. The Earth is also known as the ‘Blue Planet’.

Mars
Also called the ‘Red Planet’, Mars is the second smallest planet out of the eight. With a speed of 24.077 km/s, it takes Mars 686.97 days to orbit the Sun.

Jupiter
Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system. Orbiting the Sun at a speed of 13.07 km/s, it takes Jupiter 4,332.59 days to complete a full orbit.

Saturn
Saturn is the second largest planet in the solar system. It’s orbiting speed is just 9.69 km/s, and it takes Saturn 10,759.22 days to do a complete orbit around the Sun.

Uranus
Uranus is the seventh planet from the Sun. Orbiting at a speed of 6.81 km/s, it takes Uranus 30,799.095 days to rotate around the Sun.

Neptune
And finally, Neptune is the farthest out of the eight planets from the Sun. Traveling at a speed of 5.43 km/s, it takes Neptune 60,190.03 days to go around the Sun.

As you can see, as their distance from the Sun increases, planets orbit the Sun at a slower speed, and coupled with the fact that the distance is more, the time for one orbit obviously increases to a great extent.

Martial Art Belts

martial-art-beltsMartial arts originated more of a form of defense, rather than attack. The various forms have been in existence since centuries. Some forms of martial arts originated in japan, while others came out from China and Korea. Slight variants are followed in countries like Brazil, while the rest of the world usually goes with the norm.

In each form, there are colored belts that depict the level a student has reached in his training. That’s what we’ll have a look at, the different martial art belts along with their colors. They begin from novice and go to expert level.

Taekwondo Karate Judo Jujitsu Hapkido
White White White White White
Yellow Yellow Yellow Red Yellow
Green Orange Orange Yellow Blue
Blue Purple Green Orange Red
Red Blue Blue Green Black
Black Green Brown Blue
Brown Black Purple
Black White-Red Brown
Red Black

Students start with white belts in all martial art forms, and as they learn more moved and advanced techniques, they are awarded different colored belts as they progress.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Specifications and Review

The much awaited and talked about Samsung Galaxy S3 will be available from May 29, 2012 onward, and this is one phone really worth the wait. It succeeds the Samsung Galaxy S2, which according to Samsung’s high standards did not sell really well. But the S3 is different, and definitely raises the bar as far as smartphones are concerned.

Let’s have a look at some of the Samsung Galaxy S3 specifications, and review it in short too.

Samsung Galaxy S3

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has some cool innovations. The most exciting and useful addition to this phone is the new sensor it has. The new sensor tracks your eyes, so as long as you are looking at the phone, watching something, reading something, the phone will not go dim and lock itself on you. till now, with our phones, to overcome this problem, we used to set the screen lock to a longer time. Not now, as ‘Smart Stay’ uses the sensor to know that you are using the phone.

Another good feature is that if you are view a contact on your phone, or a message from someone, and you put the phone to your ear, the S3 will dial that contact for you. The S3 also comes with ‘S-Voice’ for voice control, which works even better than Siri. The 8MP camera comes with a 20-shot burst mode. Other useful features are ‘Buddy Photo Share’ which automatically shares a photograph you take with people whose faces are recognized, and the ‘S-Beam’, which facilitates file transfer quickly by touching devices together.

All in all, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is a good step ahead from the S2, loaded with some awesome features, which is why I think it will get a decent run in the global market, at least till the next iPhone comes out.

How to Get Pregnant Faster

Most people have the plan set up, like when they would like to pursue their job, when they would like to get married, and even when they would like to have kids. For those who have decided to extend their family by having a kid, here are a few useful yet simple tips to get pregnant faster.

These are a few basic do’s and don’ts that you need to keep in mind to increase your chances of getting pregnant. When you are thinking of how to get pregnant faster, just remember all of this. The first and most important thing that you need to do is visit your gynecologist. Get a thorough check-up done on yourself. You may feel that this is unnecessary, but rest assured, this is an important first step. You need to be sure that there are no medical problems that you have, which might affect the pregnancy or the baby. Besides, the doctor will give you some prenatal vitamins which will be very helpful.

A lot is said here and there about the positions for having sex and their relevance in getting pregnant fast. There is really no scientific proof or evidence to back any one theory, but yes, the missionary position is one that is favorable. Lying down is a must, as sitting and standing positions make it extremely difficult for the sperm to travel upstream. Besides this, remain in bed for at least fifteen minutes after sex, don’t just do it and run off to the bathroom or somewhere else immediately.

A woman’s cycle plays a big role in getting pregnant. Know your cycle well. The time of ovulation is the ideal and best time to get pregnant. If you are in doubt, you should get yourself one ovulation prediction kit.

Now another important point is that, in a hurry to get pregnant, you do not need to have sex too often. This can have an adverse effect, as too much of sex will deplete the man’s sperm count because of repeated ejaculation. He should also wear loose, light clothes.

Last but not the least, stress and anxiety need to be kept far away. For women, it adversely affects ovulation, and for men, it can be a cause of sexual dysfunction. Meditation and light exercising is a good way to overcome this problem, since even being overweight isn’t good when you are looking to have a baby.

These are simple tips to get pregnant faster. As you may have seen, it isn’t rocket science. The rest leave up to God and just pray that you have a nice healthy baby. All the best!

Death Penalty Pros and Cons

Whether the death penalty is a correct mean of punishment or not is still a hot matter of debate all around the world. It is supposed to be the most severe type of punishment, and while we have many who are against its use, there are also quite a few who support it. Both sides have their valid arguments, so here we’re going to have a look at some of the capital punishment pros and cons.

Nearly a third of the countries in the world have banned the death penalty. Though around 140 countries around the world have completely abolished the death penalty, 56 others still use it as a mean of punishment in severe cases. China is the leading country as far as capital punishment is concerned, where every year thousands of people are put to death. While some countries use this method of punishment only in extreme cases like murder or terrorism, there are some nations that even use the death penalty for robbery, drug trafficking, rape, etc. Well, let’s get down to the death penalty pros and cons now, shall we!

Arguments in Favor of the Death Penalty
The main argument that most experts have is that keeping the death penalty as an open option deters a lot of crimes and criminals. They feel that without such a system in place, the rate of crime rises steeply. Another point that is made is that convicts who are a danger to society should not ever have the chance of being released or escaping, so as to pose a danger to society again. Last but not the least is that, it is widely believed that if a person takes another’s life in any way, then the price that he should pay is with his own life itself, and that only is true justice.

Arguments against the Death Penalty
The most valid argument against the death penalty is wrongful convictions. There are many cases in which a crime that has been committed cannot be a hundred percent verified. Still in those cases, the accused is put to death. Many countries do not even give the accused a fair trial or representation, something that most people argue against. Now another interesting debate is that even though many countries believe that capital punishment is the best deterrence for crime, statistics prove that crime rates are actually higher in those nations where the death penalty is used more widely. So it is believed that capital punishment in fact is not the solution after all. And lastly, it is actually more expensive to put a person to death, than actually jail him for life. This is because, over the years the case goes on, appeals are made at different levels, after which finally the execution is carried out. All this incurs a lot of cost, and experts believe that everything goes wasted, whereas the accused would have been better off just being locked up for life.

The countries who are the leaders in executions of the past few years are China, Iran, North Korea, Yemen, United States, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Bangladesh. Now if one goes deeper into each country’s statistics, it will be seen that the crime rates in these countries is not necessarily lower than those many other countries that have actually banned capital punishment. So now you know why the debate on the death penalty pros and cons is such a heated one, over the decades. Though one thing can be said, executions in present times are much more humane than the barbaric methods that were used in the olden days. Not that this reason is any justification. But the debate will continue…
